15th Annual Charity Softball Challenge April 14, 2018

On Saturday, April 14, 2018, the Clearwater Police Department will team up to face the Largo Police Department team during the 15th Annual Police Charity Softball Game in conjunction with the Clearwater Threshers’ baseball game scheduled for that evening. Not only is it a night filled with fun, this community-building event includes a more serious aspect. ‘Sun Coast Law Enforcement Charities, Inc.’ Non-Profit Organization 501 (c)(3) will be raising funds which will benefit 20 year Clearwater Police Officer Kyle Resler. Kyle, a navy veteran and father of two was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 High Grade Neuroendocrine Carcinoma which is a rare cancer with currently no cure. Kyle has been receiving chemo therapy at Moffitt and has sought advice from The University of Kentucky as one of the leading researchers for this type of cancer in under contract there.

Besides the outcome of the softball game and enjoying the time with family and friends, the most popular activity of the evening is our Silent Auction. During the weeks preceding the event we reach out to those in our community who are able to open their hearts and donate goods or services that will be sold that evening to the highest bidder.

$20.00 Tickets include All You Can Eat & Drink from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, games for the kids, silent auction, plus fireworks following the Threshers’ Game! (Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Peanuts, Popcorn, Chips, Ice cream sandwiches, Soft drinks & bottled water, as well as 16oz Draft Beer for only $2.50)

Tickets available at the west gate on game day or contact: Mike Blickensdorf (810) 955-2237 mblicken@largo.com
